Description

Its basic principle is to use a high-performance electrostatic powder coating gun to charge powder particles, which are then adsorbed onto the grounded metal workpiece surface. After heating and curing, a strong and aesthetically pleasing coating is formed.

1. Pretreatment System:

This is the cornerstone of ensuring coating adhesion. Its function is to thoroughly remove oil, rust, and dust from the metal workpiece surface and generate a conversion film that enhances adhesion through processes such as phosphating and silanization. This area typically includes equipment for degreasing, washing, surface conditioning, phosphating/silanization, pure water washing, and drying.

2. Coating System:

It's the core of the production line, integrated from multiple key subsystems.

1) Spray Gun: The source of static electricity. An advanced spray gun control system can significantly improve the powder application rate and coating uniformity of complex workpiece edges and corners, increase work efficiency, and improve powder utilization.

2) Spray Booth and Recovery System: The powder spray booth provides a clean space for the spraying operation, ensuring no powder spillage, and is directly connected to the recovery system. 4. Conveying System:

Running throughout the entire production line, such as overhead conveyors and accumulation chains, it is responsible for the smooth and continuous transport of workpieces through each process. Its operational stability and cleanliness directly affect production cycle time and coating impurity control.

 

5. Control System:

The brain of the production line, integrating PLCs, touchscreen control interfaces, etc., to achieve precise control of each equipment unit, process parameter setting, and monitoring.

Common Process Problems and Root Cause Analysis of  the Powder Coating Machines

During production line operation, coating quality defects often stem from malfunctions in one of the following areas: equipment, process, environment, or management.

* Poor Coating Adhesion and Peeling:

The main causes include: uneven powder supply, poor powder particle size distribution, improper distance between the spray gun and the workpiece, or difficulty in applying powder to grooves in the workpiece due to electrostatic shielding, etc.

Equipment Performance Differences and Failures: After long-term operation, some equipment frequently malfunctions due to issues such as raw material quality, airflow calculation errors, or improper control system design, resulting in significant losses.
