When evaluating the powder output from the powder coating gun intuitively, we tend to unconsciously judge that the powder sprayed by the guns is low in transparency (intuitively feels high concentration) and the powder is flying violently during spraying (intuitively feels a large amount of residual powder) as the large powder output from the powder coating gun , and the gun with high powder transparency and less powder flying is judged as less powder output, but it is not the case. The principle is as follows:
1. Mistakenly believe that the powder sprayed by the powder coating guns has low transparency and intuitive feeling that the guns with high concentration produces a large amount of powder. Practice has proved that when the same powder supply amount (the same powder supply facility, the same air pressure condition, the same box of powder) is used to supply powder to powder coating guns with different charging performance, the powder sprayed by the poorly charged spray gun has low transparency from the side and is intuitive. It feels that the powder concentration is high; while the powder sprayed by the powder coating guns with excellent charging performance has high transparency and low intuitive feeling when viewed from the side.
Reasons: The powder coating guns with good charging performance can fill the sprayed powder particles with a sufficient amount of electrostatic charge, so that the powder particles can obtain enough mutual electrostatic repulsion. There is no adhesion between them, showing a very good atomization state. From the side, you will feel that the powder is uniform and transparent, resulting in the illusion of "less powder".
However, the powder sprayed by the powder coating guns with poor charging performance don’t have enough electrostatic repulsion between the powder particles, and the powder particles form adhesion and the atomization effect is not good. From the side of the guns, the sprayed powder has low transparency. Often causes the illusion of "more powder".
Conclusion: For two spray powder coating guns with the same powder output, the better the charging performance, the better the powder atomization, and the higher the transparency of the side view, rather than a gun with low powder transparency and a large intuitive concentration.
2. When spraying the workpiece with the powder coating gun, it is often mistaken for a gun with a strong powder to produce a large amount of powder. Practice has proved that when the same powder supply amount (same powder supply facility, same air pressure condition, same box of powder) is used to supply powder to two different spray guns (with obvious differences in powder loading capacity), in the same powder recovery spray booth , When spraying the same workpiece, most of the powder sprayed by the spray gun with good performance will be adsorbed on the surface of the sprayed target workpiece after flying away from the powder coating gun, and very little powder will bounce back from the workpiece and fly around; On the other hand, the gun with poor performance will have a lot of powder rebound and a lot of residual powder flying.
Reasons: The gun with good performance has a high powder rate and less powder flying away from the workpiece, while the gun with poor performance has a low powder rate and a lot of powder flying away from the workpiece. Therefore, when spraying with a powder coating gun with poor performance, it is often prone to a large amount of powder resulting in the illusion of "large powder output" from the spray gun (in fact, it is a lot of waste).
Conclusion: For two powder coating guns with the same powder output, the one with strong powder flying during spraying has a low powder rate, but it is easy to cause the illusion of large powder output; while spraying with a powder coating gun with excellent performance and high powder rate, a large amount of the powder is attached to the workpiece, so there is very little powder flying away, which is easy to cause the illusion of "low powder output".
